Magnified Learning helps open Carbon Footprint Garden at Newbury College
23 07 2010
On Wednesday 23rd Newbury College very kindly invited Nigel and Magnified Learning's friend and colleague Conrad Benefield to open their brand new Carbon Footprint Garden.
Conrad is leading the sustainable development project at the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) [1] and both he and Nigel were invited to say a few words before Conrad cut the ribbon.
Nigel has worked with Newbury College for the last couple of years as a post-16 citizenship consultant, which is how he got to know Lynne Nutley, one of the driving forces behind the garden.
It was a fantastic event, blessed by good weather and excellent attendance. The garden itself - in the shape of a giant footprint – would have met with the approval of the pioneering environmentalist William Morris, being both useful and beautiful, and there’s no doubting that it will yield the College community many years fruitful activity!
